LOGISTICS AND ADMINISTRATIVE UPDATE

The Southern National Congress Committee (SNCC)

February 22, 2006

By now we hope that all those committed to the cause of the South and its heritage of ordered liberty are making plans to join the second meeting of the SNCC on March 18 in McDonough, GA.  The Committee will convene at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 18, in the Henry County Administration Building in McDonough, about 45 minutes south of Atlanta.  We expect to conclude around 5:00 PM, depending on progress made and on the will of the participants.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS:  Take I-75 to Exit 218.  Exit and turn east (toward McDonough) onto GA Hwy 20/81.  Travel approximately a quarter mile from the expressway and turn right onto Industrial Blvd (traffic light at this intersection).  Continue less than a mile and take the first left past the fire station.  The Henry County Administration Building is approximately a half mile on the right.

URGENT REMINDER REGARDING ACCOMMODATIONS:  Repeating our alert in the previous message, there will be a NASCAR race in town the same weekend as our meeting.  We regret not learning of this sooner.  The NASCAR event will put extra pressure on local lodging.  SNCC participants need to make lodging arrangements ASAP.  The following link will give you access to local accommodations in and near McDonough:

If you have trouble finding lodging in McDonough, try Stockbridge, GA, which is only ten minutes north of McDonough on I-75.  This link should provide access to lodging in Stockbridge.

Also, there are ample rooms available around Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport, which is only 20-30 minutes north of McDonough (on the southeast side of Atlanta) with easy access to I-75.  On Saturdays traffic is lighter and you should have no trouble making a quick journey to and from McDonough if you choose to stay near the Atlanta Airport.

FRIDAY EVENING DINNER:  If you plan to arrive in the vicinity Friday afternoon, March 17, please join your fellow SNCC members as guest of the SNCC Executive Committee at O.B.’s Barbecue Restaurant, I-75 at Exit 218 in McDonough.  We will gather for fellowship at 7:00 PM Friday, March 17.  Again, that’s O.B.’s Barbecue, Exit 218 off I-75 in McDonough, and the Executive Committee will host.
