this historic conference. Please call Dr. Michael Hill at

or TV interviews.
The League is privileged
to hold its 8th Annual National Conference in Mississippi to show our support
for their overwhelming vote in defense of the historic MS State Flag. Here in
the Gibraltar of Dixie, Southern voters were finally given their rightful
democratic opportunity (denied "so far" in South Carolina, Georgia,
Florida and Alabama) to vote in support for and victory of Southern history and
heritage. This message was heard around the world, up in Washington DC and by state politicians
in every Southern state. --
Dr. Michael Hill, President of The League of
the South.

A reception for contributors to the Presidential Salary Fund will be held
Thursday evening, 11 October.
We will be inaugurating the Circle of St. Andrew, and everyone who has contributed to the fund will receive
a distinctive St. Andrews Cross lapel pin. Our main

free time built into our schedule so folks will have an opportunity to
socialize, and there will be a cash bar available for our members at the
conclusion of activities on Saturday, the 13th. Moreover, we plan to
have a worship service
on the following Lord’s Day morning at the hotel.
The conference is open to all Southerners of good will, proud of our
Southern
heritage. You do not have to be a member of the League of the South to attend
and we especially invite members of the SCV, HPA and other conservative,

Suggested
War For Southern Independence 6 Day Automobile Tour
While
in Jackson, tour our state capital once known as "Chimneyville".
This was a well-deserved nickname since it was put to the torch on three separate
occasions by rampaging Union forces during the War For Southern Independence. Tour the Old Capitol Museum, the Governor's Mansion,
Boyd House "The Oaks," City Hall and Manship House, all of which
survived the war.
Take
some extra time, here in Mississippi and tour the historic city of Vicksburg,
known as the Gibraltar of the South. Lincoln called this proud city the key to winning the Civil
War, just as today we believe the Mississippi Flag Victory is our turning point
in the battle to preserve Southern heritage, pride, rights and symbols all over
the South. Vicksburg stands today as a monument
to the Old South. Within its boundaries is a capsule of preserved history and a
virtual study of the War For Southern Independence. Tour antebellum homes, museums and
churches. Take a 16-mile driving tour of the 1,800 acre Vicksburg National
Military Park and National Cemetery.
Port Gibson MS, a town
"Too
beautiful to burn," declared General U. S. Grant of this picturesque
Southern town. And he was right! Tour antebellum homes, churches, cemeteries and
nearby Grand Gulf Military Monument Park and Museum, with its building
restorations and old Grand Gulf Cemetery. Visit the poignant Ruins of Windsor,
the remains of what was once Mississippi's largest and most opulent mansion,
destroyed by fire in 1890.
Be thankful, that General Grant was here rather than Sherman, "who
pioneered modern war against defenseless civilians". He probably would have
ordered his troops to burn the town with the people in it.
