A Prayer From the Sons & Daughters of Dixie Sons and Daughters of Dixie,
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, your Christian people have come before you now today in a spirit of humbleness seeking your blessing upon our struggle against overwhelming odds. A struggle against the yoke of bondage which we have worn for 138 years. Our battle is not only against powers and principalities but against the authors of every infidel notion imaginable; against an enemy whose political order has been placed as sovereign over your Holy Word and creation. And worst of all, Father we know it is a battle against ourselves for WE as a people and a movement are our own worst enemy.
Our people are filled with confusion and are brought to destruction by their lack of knowledge. We have given comfort to our enemies and pledge allegiance to them even while they destroy us. We have fought amongst ourselves while all the while our yoke grows heavier and our enemies grow stronger.
Father, in the precious name of your son we ask you to turn our feet from the many paths of confusion and bless us with a unity of purpose.
Where there has been animosity and back biting among our brothers we ask you to bring us together and bless us with reconciliation and peace.
Where it appears that our opinions differ, help us to find our shared beliefs and common values.
Where we have worked for different ends, help us to find common goals and a plan to reach them.
Father, we pray that this meeting has blessed these leaders of Dixie with a long-needed spirit of constructiveness, friendship and goodwill.
We thank you for guiding us today that our plans may be according to your will. Bless our leadership with knowledge, wisdom, understanding and discernment.
Father we have sinned against you as individuals and as a nation. Your undeserving people ask you to wash us in the blood of your only begotten son. Cleanse us of our transgressions against your perfect law that we may stand righteous in your eyes. Forgive us that we may be pleasing to you; that we might be your worthy servants and that we may be worthy of the blessings we ask for the people of Dixie.
We give you thanks for bringing this fine assembly of Southrons together in Abbeville from near and far for this historical occasion and we ask that you will watch over and protect each and every one of your precious sheep as they make their return journeys home.
Great Lord of Hosts, our forefathers carved a new Christian nation upon this continent by force of arms. The borders of that nation are only visible today in our hearts, its boundaries drawn in the blood of our fathers. Lord we ask you to let that nation live again as a bright and shining example to the world. If it is your will, Father Dixie shall be your footstool, and the starry cross of St. Andrew will tell the world that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God of Dixie and we are His obedient people.
In the precious name of your son, our King, Jesus our Saviour,
May your will be done this day Amen
Closing Prayer Delivered by Michael R. Tubbs 1st Vice Chairman / Chaplain Northeast Florida Chapter League of the South Abbeville, South Carolina 22 February, 2003
