cover   Braveheart find out more information
A stupendous historical saga, Braveheart won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for star Mel Gibson. He plays William Wallace, a 13th-century Scottish commoner who unites the various clans against a cruel English King, Edward the Longshanks (Patrick McGoohan). One of my favorite movies of all time.
cover   The Patriot find out more information
A great movie on the American Revolution filmed mostly in South Carolina. Note, some of the atrocities really are in excess of what the British did and would be more appropriate for Hitler or Lincoln than the British.
cover   Liberty - The American Revolution
find out more information - Featuring dramatic readings from letters and diaries of the period plus live-action re-creations, this compelling series traces the events leading up to the war and America's fight for freedom.

cover   The Speeches of Our Founding Fathers &... find out more information - This includes speeches and documents from our founding fathers.

cover   Revolution find out more information
A good entertaining movie on the American Revolution but certainly not mainstream as if I've ever been mainstream.
cover   1776 find out more information - A takeoff on the original Broadway musical but still one of my favorite films.

cover   Gettysburg (Widescreen Edition) find out more information - My favorite War For Southern Independence movie of all time until 2003 when "Gods & Generals" is released. Everyone interested in the war should own this film.

cover   Glory find out more information - My second favorite film showing the history of the all-black 54th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteer infantry. Great battle scenes of their attack and defeat against Fort Wagner in Charleston. Note, the Blacks of the North fought in segregated units while Southern Blacks fought with their White compatriots.
cover   The Hunley find out more information - A fair and accurate view of Charleston at war and the brave men of the Hunley. The scene of the Federals targeting and bombarding the innocent civilians and churches of Charleston is not to be missed.

cover   Class of '61 find out more information - A great movie which is fair to both sides about West Point's class of 1861 and what happened in the early stages of the war.

cover   Ride With the Devil find out more information - A little slow for me but very pro South with heart felt action of the fight for Southern independence in Missouri.

cover   North and South find out more information - My favorite mini-series of the War Between the States even if some of the historical accuracy is missing.

cover   The Civil War - A Film by Ken Burns find out more information - Everything you probably ever want to know about the war but from an establishment pro North viewpoint. Still, well worth watching.
cover   The Birth of a Nation & The Civil War... find out more information
