Braveheart
find out more information
A stupendous historical saga,
Braveheart won five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best
Director for star Mel Gibson. He plays William Wallace, a 13th-century
Scottish commoner who unites the various clans against a cruel English
King, Edward the Longshanks (Patrick McGoohan). One of my favorite
movies of all time. |

The Patriot
find out more information
A great movie on the American Revolution
filmed mostly in South Carolina. Note, some of the atrocities really
are in excess of what the British did and would be more appropriate
for Hitler or Lincoln than the British. |

Glory
find out more information - My second favorite film showing the
history of
the all-black 54th
Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteer infantry.
Great battle scenes of their attack and defeat against Fort Wagner in
Charleston. Note, the Blacks of the North fought in segregated units
while Southern Blacks fought with their White compatriots.

The Hunley

at war and the brave men of the Hunley. The scene of the Federals
targeting and bombarding the innocent civilians and churches of
Charleston is not to be missed.
